There is something very satisfying about clay - the feel of it ...

Ever since I can remember, I loved touching clay. Although I enjoy working with other materials - I keep going back to clay. It simply helps me to become a better person.

Even when I don't actually throw clay, I think about the process - I picture every step in my head, from wedging the clay to taking the piece off the wheel.

My specialty is functional pottery, using mainly porcelain and stoneware. I try to create dishes that are inviting to touch, easy to use and easy to clean. I like to imagine the people who are going to use my dishes - what will they use it for, what will be the colors of the food that will be served in them, etc.

An important goal for me is to create good correlation between form, decoration and use. Often I find myself working for an hour on perfecting a lid, attaching a handle to a pitcher, or adding decorations.

It is then that I realize - I just love touching clay...
